Ramm Studios help publishers create books. We work collaboratively, bringing new ideas to fruition, or breathing life into established brands. Whether it is an author who needs an idea, or an idea that needs an author, we can help.
Our projects have included developing a new series for a major publisher, helping nonfiction commissioners to acquire books they’ve not seen from agents, and working with one of the biggest author brands on the structure and content of a new work.
If you give us a brief, we identify a credible writer, and offer editorial support and expertise to them. Doing so, we turn a great idea into something tangible and procurable for acquisition. Following acquisition, we often continue to work with the author to create a fully edited manuscript in due course.
We want to do publishing differently, working collaboratively and creatively to maximise rewards for both authors and publishers.
Editorial Services
Ramm Studios adds value to a text from the inception of a project to the copyedit. In both nonfiction and fiction, we specialise in big picture editorial work – structure, style, content, cutting – that turns a manuscript into a book.
As nonfiction editors, we have worked with academics, historians, scientists, celebrities, musicians, thinkers, journalists, memoirists and comedians. In fiction, we’ve edited everybody from literary prize-winners to Richard and Judy bestsellers. Regardless of the genre, our role is always the same: to bring out the best version of the book.
Whatever stage or state that a manuscript is in, we offer a transformative editorial service. We take great pride and satisfaction in helping authors and publishers to create books that are the best version of themselves.
Agenting
We represent authors with a view to creating long term, sustainable careers for them. We seek writers and experts of the highest calibre, and aim to work with them for the long term.
Our focus is literary fiction, and expert-led and narrative nonfiction. Our service is tailored to the specific needs of each client, and is therefore highly personal. We are rigorous, diligent and discrete, and aim to create the conditions for authors to produce their best possible work.
